The PDSA Pet Aid scheme at Rosevean Veterinary Surgery provides free veterinary treatment to those genuinely in need of financial assistance.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE SCHEME?
Your pet must have been registered at the practice for at least 6 months prior to submitting an application for PDSA Petaid.
In order to be able to register an animal on the scheme you will need to provide evidence of receipt of either of the following benefits:
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
Only one animal per household may be on the scheme at any one time.
We require all other animals in the household to be registered at Rosevean Veterinary Practice. Normal fees for veterinary treatment will be charged for these animals.
We expect clients who are benefiting from the scheme to have their pet neutered at Rosevean Veterinary Practice and to purchase vaccinations, wormers and flea treatment from us. Treatment for conditions that could have been prevented by following this ad- vice will be subject to normal practice fees.
WHAT IS COVERED BY THE SCHEME?
The PDSA Petaid scheme is NOT a pet insurance policy and does not cover all treatment and procedures. It is designed to cover basic veterinary care for the registered animal to ensure that the animal does not suffer as a result of an inability to pay for veterinary care. We strongly recommend considering taking out an insurance policy to cover veterinary fees .
The following conditions are a selection of those NOT covered:
HOW DO I REGISTER AN ANIMAL?
Your animal needs to be registered BEFORE they become ill or have an accident.
Pick up an application form from any member of our reception team. This must be returned to the practice accompanied by a postal order and proof of benefit.
Your pet will be booked in for a PDSA health check appointment (payable by you) so a vet can assess the condition of your pet before we submit your application
If accepted on the scheme you will be given a certificate which will need to be produced every time your pet visits the practice. PDSA funded treatment cannot be given without it.
Registration needs to be renewed every six months
The scheme only applies to appointments between 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Appointments at any other times must be paid for in full at the normal practice rate.
